“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands. How great are your works, O Lord, how profound your thoughts!” (Psalm 92:1-5 NIV)

True worship occurs as believers encounter the Living God and are effectively equipped to employ God’s Word in their everyday lives. The music ministry at HPC is an integral part of corporate worship here at HPC. The purpose of the music ministry at HPC is to enhance the quality of worship, and assist worshippers in coming into the presence of our Holy Lord with grateful hearts and a sense of awe.

At HPC, we blend traditional and updated versions of traditional hymns with upbeat and contemporary praise and worship music. Music selections are made with deliberate intent to focus honor and praise to our Heavenly Father, faithfully reflect spiritual truth, and contain rich, sound doctrine.

Those who participate in music ministry as “lead worshippers” are dedicated instrumentalists and vocalists who exhibit Godly character and attitude, and who seek to employ their God-given talents to glorify God. Worship in music and song is not a performance or show. While committed to excellence, musicians and vocalists are mindful of their role to humbly lead the congregation in making a musical offering of worship that is Christ-centered.

Opportunities for service in music ministry at HPC include:

• Instrumentalists and vocalists to lead congregational singing
• Prelude and/or postlude music
• Seasonal SATB choir
• Small group vocal ensembles or soloists for music during offertory
• Evening worship in music and song

Contact Cindi Repass through the church office if you wish to participate in our music ministry.
