Who We Are

Heritage is a member church of the Potomac Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA is one of the faster growing denominations in the United States, with 1,372 churches and missions throughout the USA and Canada. There were more than 345,582 members as of 2007. Heritage is a church of about 170 members formed in 1985 as a sister church to Gainesville Presbyterian Church. Our growing congregation has warm and friendly members as diverse as the community we are part of.

Heritage Presbyterian has a zeal for the proclamation of the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. We are committed to vibrant biblical worship, deep discipleship through the preaching and teaching of the Scriptures, warm fellowship, and sharing the Gospel through personal and corporate outreach.

For those who are familiar with “The Presbyterian Church”, note that the PCA is not affiliated with the larger presbyterian denomination known as the PCUSA.  The PCA is quite different from the PCUSA in several important ways, primarily because the PCA continues to stand in the stream of historic orthodox presbyterian beliefs and practices.
