Pastor Larry Yeager's Installation Service

On February 13, 2011 our congregation "officially" began a new chapter in its history. Larry Yeager, formerly our Associate Pastor, was installed by the Potomac Presbytery as the new Senior Pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church. Larry has been serving in this capacity since Steve Hohenberger retired from our pulpit last month, when Larry took the installation vows before the Presbytery in the presence of our congregation he became our officially recognized Senior Pastor.

The installation service was a wonderful time of worship and thankgiving for all that God has done in for HPC in our transition from one leader to the next. The evening began with a call to worship by our own Associate Pastor and Teaching Elder Rob Amsler. Our Ruling Elder John Boryschuk led the congregation in a prayer of praise and adoration for our great God, Teaching Elder David Coffin (pastor of New Hope PCA in Fairfax) preached the sermon to us, Ruling Elder Chip Watkins (from McLean PCA) led HPC and Larry in taking the constituational vows, Teaching Elder Jack Lash (pastor of Gainesville PCA) gave the pastoral charge to Larry, Rob Amsler gave the charge to the congregation, our own Ruling Elder Kevin Horn led those in attendance in a time of shared public prayer, and Larry closed the service as our newly installed pastor by giving the benediction (the blessing) on everyone there. Interspersed throughout the service were appropriate singing of hymns and readings from Scripture. Give praise to God!
